Happy Hump Day Everyone! (or at least the very few who look at this)
I have some scary news, but good news as well. I have figured out why my lil Dominic has been so clumbsy over the past couple of years. He is double jointed from head to toe.
Here is a lil explaination of whats been going on with him.
Dominic turned 3 in May, and he has had a lot of trouble over the past couple years tripping over things, falling on his face, falling down and up stairs, tripping on nothing, lots of bruises from falling, I noticed him limping and slapping his right foot as he walks and it is exagerated when he is tired or waking up from a nap, he walks kind of crooked and I can see why he trips all the time because he doesnt have much control over his leg.
I was not the only one who seen his leg act up. His grandmother (meme) and his Grandma Robert(nana susie) and my mother(nana) also noticed the differences between him walking ok, and when he is tired or clumbsy.
I took him to the doctors a few months ago with the aid of my brother inlaw(Adam), and asked my doc what was wrong with him, and he looked at him walking and said 'nothing'. He asked him to walk down the hall, he didnt see anything, I told him to take his boots off so the doctor could see his legs and he did, then he walked again. I asked him to remove his shorts so the doc could see his whole legs as he walked, and then asked him to walk the hall again. Again the doc said he seen 'nothing wrong'. Adam and I left the office in pissy moods because we left thinking that the doctor was very rude for not looking any closer or actualy physically examining his legs. We felt ripped off. And the fact that the doctor had asked my lil man to take his shorts off and he would give him a sucker, wasnt anything we wanted to hear an old man tell my 3yr old lil boy.
We are no longer liking this family doctor of ours and I am going to make a change very soon when one becomes available.
Dominic also had a bad reaction to a bee sting a few months ago, and I felt he needed to be tested to ensure he wasnt deathly allergic and the doc made an appt to see a specialist. During the leg visit he made an effort to refer us to a specialist.
When we took him in to get tested (which he wasnt tested, she just talked with us, he isnt deathly allergic, but could swell up to the size of an elephant and still be ok?) I asked her about his heart murmur, which he still has, and about his leg. She seen the leg issue right away, no questions asked, and she made a referral to visit with a pediatrition.
During his visit with the pediatrition on Monday, they told my mother inlaw (who took him in since Im not driving yet) that he is double jointed from head to toe and needed to be taught a few things to correct his legs. I am super excited that it isnt anything serious, and even more excited that I wasnt over thinking his leg issue or clumbsiness, he now has a reason why he is the way he is.
I had to buy him a flat soled pair of flexible shoes, and his brother, Treyton, has to teach him how to walk like a duck and how to sit like an indian (crossed legged). He isnt allowed to sleep with his legs tucked under him and lying on his belly, but I dont know how I am supposed to correct that one since I dont sleep next to him and am not going into his room several times a nigt to move him. He isnt allowed to sit on his legs either, he is to sit cross legged when he sits. He also isnt allowed to wear his rubber boots anymore since he isnt allowed to have supportive shoes :( He loves his lil red rubber rain boots and will be very upset once he learns we have to give them away.
BEETLES YAY
I got a new car, like 2004 new. I had my white '95 Chev suburban we were going to minor repair to get on the road, but figured we would try to sell it during our recent time between Jeremy's jobs. We needed the extra cash to pay bills and rent and figured we could try. No one wanted to buy it, tho several people came to look at it. The guy down the road came and started it up, but he blew out my brake line which decreased its value rapidly.
Now I had a truck that wouldnt sell, as well as it couldnt stop so no one could test drive it safely. It was a deisel and chewed through it and I know it does cause Jeremy has the same truck, just a bit newer. I wanted something different, something smaller I could be comfortable in, something easy on gas and cute to drive...
then the car salesman from heaven emailed me with the bestest offer in my life :) it asked-
"Would you be interested in trading your truck for a 2004 beetle?"
I practically fell out of my computer chair trying to reply to him so quickly so I didnt lose out on the opportunity to own a car I have been wanting since my childhood. Well, not neccessarily a 2004 beetle, but I wanted a VW bug forever, like the older styled ones with the engine in the rear. But, this one was going to be just dandy.
I replied with this-
"Yes, I will trade my truck for a beetle, but Im not sure if my husband will and its in his name"
The salesman then called my husband almost instantly, without notifying me, and since his number is in my email signature and I forgot about it, I had no clue. So when Jeremy walked in from work asking about a beetle, I was shocked and super excited that he made plans to go see it and he thought it was a good idea too.
YAY!!!!
Now I have a silver 2004 beetle sitting in my driveway, mocking me everyday I leave my house or walk to the mailbox, and has to sit there until I go get my G2 licence in September. He is also dropping off a parts vehicle sometime soon as well, but he blew his tires when he picked up the truck, so we have to wait until he can deliver it.
but at least it is in MY driveway, with Betty Boop covering her steering wheel, floors and sunvisors :) she also has a pair of Betty dice hanging from her rearview.
I also placed the sunflower I was given at my cousins funeral, in the flower holder beside the wheel. That way Jenna is with me while I drive, maybe she can protect me. She was killed on a highway in Alberta a few years ago, she was side-swiped by a school bus when she tried to turn around. I miss her dearly so having the flower in my car means a lot to me.
We went to Nova Scotia a few weeks ago (visited Jennas mom and dad in New Brunswick too), end of June early July, but will save that for a later post, must make kids lunch before its dinner time.

I'm Baaaack... I Think!
So, 3.5mths later and my kids are doing well. No illness for now. Treyton just got over an inner ear infection and I just kicked a huge sinus infection, but all is well otherwise.
Chance is walking, babbling and eating me out of house and home just like the other munchkins. I have been starting to upload more videos of them on youtube, they are so funny I have to share.
This Sunday Treyton and Dominic have their birthdays and I'm super excited, but poor lil Dommy will be at his fathers so I wont be able to give him his midnight birthday kiss. He is turning 3 and Trey is turning 7 already... time is flying. We are planning a sleepover party for Trey along with a bonfire and mini pizzas. He is super excited. I'll miss Dominic, but get to see him Sunday night on his special day. This is his first birthday without mommy.
My chickens are doing great, but 'Lucky' isnt so lucky anymore, she was picked up by a red-tailed hawk and carried over to the neighbours where she was disemboweled :( I found her sibling whom which she was hatched with, 'FluffyButt' torn apart beside our porch, if my kids werent watching along with my husband, I would have bawled my eyes out. The hawk also made my last silkie chicken disappear.
Now I have baby chickens, about 3 weeks old in my livingroom, they are growing quick and should be good to go outside in a few weeks. They are from my Jersey Giant hens and my barred rock rooster.
I have 4 white turkey poults on my step in a cage along with my favourite chickens, the Chanteclers, they are a heritage breed of Canada and I had been looking everywhere for them. I have a male/female pair.
I'm in the middle of building them a short fence so I can have them beside my porch without roaming free, I dont want to lose anymore. I started the fence yesterday until my neighbour came over with his lawntractor offering to give my dead one a good boost. Once we got the stubborn thing started I didnt want to shut it off and mowed my lawn instead of finishing the fence, until it started to pour and thunder outside. Then I scooped up all the kids, fled them into the house and drove the mower into the shed, and headed to save my lil babe from the winds out of his baby car-swing (I almost forgot he was out there he was so quiet).
I got a bit of a sunburn, and want to get more but the wind is too much today and too chilly to go out without a jacket... but will see shortly when I go get the lil munchkins from the bus.
My 2 iguanas go to their new home this Sat before the party, I'll be glad to see them going to a new home where they can roam and eat like the pigs they are. I had been looking for a home for them for awhile now.
I need to get outside more, I'm 5'2 and 140lbs :( to me that is almost 20lbs too many(at least 15lbs too many) I'm tired and mopey all the time, dont have much for energy and need to get moving but am having a hard time getting motivated. I wanna get an eliptical so the weather wouldnt deter me.. I wanna go on a diet but my appetite is out-growing me, lol... but I wanna fit into my skinny jeans for summer. HEEEELP!!

First Day
Today is the first day I am able to sit and think. What a great stress reliever it is to be able to ponder such things that matter to me. I have not been able to do so in quite some time now.
Children... my children... are sick. My baby has pnemonia, and is not his happy bouncey self and I am trying to figure out what I can do for him to get him back because my life is not the same without him giggling or making silly faces at me all day. He has been sleeping on and off now during the day and night, and seeing him flop his head, and fall to the floor of is playpen is not normal for him. He is a strong little man, and watching him fall and sway hurts my belly. He also is agood huge eater of everything you put in front of him, and him not having enough energy to sit in his highchair and eat a cheerio, isnt normal.
Dalton is starting to fever a little, as well as Treyton, but they are bigger and can hold their own a bit better then my wee ones. They went to school happily all week with some tylenol in their systems. My daughter is starting to feel unwell, but no fever or anything too serious so she is last on priority sick list just yet :(
Mom is starting to gain some strength back from her back surgery a few weeks ago, and she is still feeling some pain, but it is new pain, not what she went in for. I just hope she can get back to her self again very soon so she can come for coffees more often to watch her grandkids grow.
Todays weather could toss a child across our lawn... it is sooo windy and the snow in the air sends chills right down to your bones. I had to put electrical tape and a towel around our door to keep the snow from blowing in with the wind.
I got to run, the boys are relaxing for the day trying to heal themselves and I should go relax too, to ward off their symptoms. If I'm down, this house will go to ruins, and we cant have that.
